Congratulations to Richard Mudd who ran his first half marathon in Cardiff on Sunday 17th October. He finished in 2hours 17minutes.
Richard was sponsored for the run and raised £307.50!
Thanks to everyone who sponsored Richard and thanks also to Mel, Dewi and Leah who collected the funds, not forgetting Bethan Walters who banked the money!!

David and Irene Williams a married couple from Gorseinon, celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary recently with a celebration at 'The Brighton Road Club' in Gorseinon, which included a dance and a buffet. The happy couple were married at St Davids Church in Penllergaer on 23rd September 1950.
The event was organised by close friends Ann and David Buck, who also run the dancing classes, Sonia from the Brighton Road club did the catering for the event, which was said to be outstanding.
The couple decided that they did not want any gifts for their special anniversary, but instead asked friends and family to contribute to the Armed Forces charity 'Healing the Wounds' Golden Grove Appeal.
Mr David Williams is an ex forces soldier with the 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers. His tours included Egypt, Palestine and Cypress, during and after the second World War. Both Irene and David Williams are totally supportive of the charity which is raising funds to provide Armed Forces Personnel, Veterans and their families with a facility for the treatment of PTSD and convalescence and wanted to help in any way possible.
The evening raised £920 in total, with a cheque presentation to the charities Executive Director, Kevin Richards and Director Carol Richards.
A charity Halloween horse ride through woodlands near Neath was completed by Michelle Lloyd from Neath. Dressed as a devil, Michelle was sponsored for her ride and raised £60 for 'Healing the Wounds', she has also donated 2 passes to the Ffos Las racecourse, that were added to a grand raffle. Michelle's mum also gave £50 to the charity and Michelle plans to organise an Easter Spring ride for 2011.

'Tracey's challenge' Golden Grove Skydive Fundraiser
Tracey Davies completed a gruelling six day event, 'Tracey's challenge', including 100 length swim, 2 sky dives, see video left,
Mt Snowden walk,cyle ride Cardiff to Brecon, walk from Brecon to Sennybridge and Sennybridge to Golden Grove.
A huge thank you to all who took part, extremely well done!
Julie and her horse Fakima held a sponsored ride on Sunday 7th November from Bwlchnewydd Carmarthen started at 9:30 and finished at around 11:00 and raised over £420 well done Julie and of course Facima.
Our thanks go to 'The Black Lion Pub' in Abergorlech, and to everyone involved in raising funds for our 'Healing the Wounds' charity.

ladies and gentlemen,on behalf of myself, Kevin Richards, Rob Nicholls, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone,on behalf of ourselves, for your great support, in raising and donating towards,both appeals.
What a excellent night,had by all,also a great thank you to the bar staff,who work extremely hard, Karen, Andrea, Anthony and Gary.
Monies raised for the appeals, came to £ 1,400.00 which was excellent, both appeals will receive,a cheque of £700.00.
Thank you all once again,for your support,in raising monies for our armed forces.
The people and friends of clydach can be proud of themselves. your help is second to none.

Our thanks go to a lovely lady by the name of Molly Roberts, who has very kindly given the charity a copy of her new autobiography, 'Yes Matron', for raffle or auction.
Molly has led an eventful life, being an evacuee in the 1940's and later pursuing a nursing career and finally settling in Wales, she relays stories of her life, from heartache to elation, together with some amusing times along the way.

Our sincere thanks go to the St Hilary's Ladies Guild, Killay in Swansea, for their generous donation of £422, also for their hospitality and warm welcome that we received during our presentation on Wednesday 10th November.
Congratulations to Tina Marvin from Neath, who has raised a total of £11,783.63 since May this year.
Well done Tina and well done to all our fund raisers who are working extremely hard for 'Healing the Wounds', we are very grateful.
An on-air event
LLANELLI Amateur Radio Society held a sponsored special event on October 23 and 24.
The society organised a 24 hour on-air amateur radio event.
The society are a group of people who meet every Monday at 7pm at Swiss Valley Community Centre. The event raised funds for the Golden Grove Mansion appeal.
Members have contacted other amateur operators around the world.
